Laura is 25 years old and a full time fire-fighter. She is also a RNLI volunteer and sports enthusiast.
Laura leads a busy life but never regrets the time she makes to give blood regularly. It can be a bit daunting at first, and it’s easy to be put off by a fear of needles, but the staff at the clinic are there to put donors at ease. It can be a good idea for a first time donor to attend with a friend or a regular donor.
Laura has seen the lifesaving impact receiving blood can have through family experience and through her work, and feels that if more people understood how crucial blood is for treating cancer patients, cardiac illnesses, young babies and accident victims of all ages, people wouldn’t hesitate to give blood.
